For the 200th anniversary events began back east in 2004 and continued along the Lewis and Clark trail until reaching the Pacific Ocean in November 2005. The nation-wide celebration will end in 2006 when the "Corps" arrives back home.

"Captain Lewis' Company" ...
"Captain Lewis' Company" is one of the official encampment groups of living history enterpreters providing education and entertainment at Bicentennial Signature events through 2006. On the Lewis and Clark expedition, Captain Lewis's men were soldiers in the U.S. Army and subject to all the rules and
regulations of the time. Today at each "Signature Events", the "Captain Lewis' Company"
reenactors set up camp with a common tent and three shelter
tents along with the many impliments which would have been taken by the expedition.
When in camp, the Company posts front and rear guards, perform daily
tasks around the camp such as cleaning guns and making clothing repairs, and they finish off each
day with a “whiskey” ration (water).
The reenactors are members of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the
Frontier Army Living History Association.

Discovery Expedition of St. Charles ...
The Discovery Expedition of St. Charles reenactors have been traveling the Lewis and Clark Trail since the kick-off event in Monticello in January 2003.
On November 15, 2005, the group made a stop at
Chinook County Park, Chinook, Washington, to commemorate Lewis and Clark reaching the Pacific Ocean.
From the Daily Astorian online edtion (September 16, 2005):
-
"...
The St. Charles group, whose members come from 38 states and range in age from 17 to 70-plus, launched their expedition on the bicentennial of the Corps of Discovery’s departure from Pennsylvania. The group originally planned to travel only as far as Great Falls, Mont., but after arriving, they decided to proceed and complete the entire route to the Pacific.
The group has more than 230 members, about 33 of whom completed the trek, with help from on-shore support from wives and others.
...
The group tried to keep to the same schedule as Lewis and Clark, stopping at or near their historic campsites on the same date. Despite the changes to the Columbia’s riverbank from dams and development, the group was able to stay at 17 of the 27 Lewis and Clark encampments in Oregon and Washington
...  :
The group took part in Bicentennial events along the route, and Clark said the reception the members received at communities large and small and the chance they had to interact with citizens was one of the most gratifying parts of the journey.
...
The group was accompanied from Lewiston to Chinook by U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers from the Washington National Guard, who voyaged with the group in Zodiac motorboats and helped reconnoiter the route and provide medical assistance and security en route.
