Salmon Run Bell Tower and Glockenspiel ...
The Salmon Run Bell Tower and Glockenspiel is located in the southeast corner of Esther Short Park.

According to the City of Vancouver website (2018), the clock was built by Verdin Bells & Clock Company. The Spiraling Salmon was created by Jim Demetro. Architect was Cindy Sterry. The Salmon Run Bell Tower is 69 feet tall.

Terry Richard, columnist for "The Oregonian" newspaper and the "OregonLive.com" website (2007) writes:

"Vancouver's 69-foot-high Salmon Run Bell Tower features a revolving musical display at noon, 2, 4, 6, and 8 p.m. The tower commemorates the life cycle of the Pacific salmon and the fish's value to the Chinook tribe, the original inhabitants of the lower Columbia River. The tower was dedicated in 2002 in Esther Short Park on the west edge of downtown. Named for an 1845 pioneer, the park has undergone a $3.2 million transformation that was funded primarily by lcoal philanthropists George and Carolyn Propstra. The park still has plenty of open grassy space, but also a new 12,000-brick plaza and 2,498-square-foot water feature. The tower is decorated with four 5-foot bronzes of jumping salmon as well as 29 blocks of columnar basalt that serve as sitting benches at its base." [Terry Richard, 2007, "OregonLive.com"]
