The Trip:
Foggy, chilly, overcast morning ... walked Vancouver's Waterfront Renaissance Trail from Columbia Shores to Vancouver Landing doing the Washington slice of Portland's Christmas Bird Count circle ... carried only the Canon Rebel T2i with 70-300zoom lens ... did not take very many images at all, but did happen to watch a Common Loon eating a Crayfish.
The Locale:
Vancouver's Waterfront Renaissance Trail is a five-mile-long path on the Washington side of the Columbia River, from Wintler Park to Vancouver Landing ... to see a listing of all birds we've seen or photographed there, CLICK HERE.

- Black-capped Chickadee ----- 9
- Cackling Geese ----- 288 (all overhead, flocks between 30 and 60, any undetermined flock as to whether Cackler or Canada is included in here)
- Canada Geese ----- 67 (40 in River and easily identified, 27 overhead, ID because of long necks)
- Common Goldeneye ----- 3 (all females)

Common Loon ----- 1 (eating Crayfish, really interesting !!!!!!)
- Common Merganser ----- 1 (female)
- Double-crested Cormorant ----- 10
- Downy Woodpecker ----- 3

- Gull, Ring-billed ----- 1
