"Mute Swan"
Mute Swan:    The Mute Swan is an imported species and not an established "wild" bird in the Pacific Northwest. Birder folks do not count it in their traditional "life lists". The are agressive to native swans and in many places back East they are trying to eliminate them. The Mute Swan at Steigerwald Refuge showed up in 2006 (information via private email) and is more-or-less now (written summer of 2009) a permanent resident.
